Nandiki Roja Ramani honoured for innovation as the company explores new applications for low-value plastic waste

Bhubaneswar, September 21, 2026: A circular-economy approach to industrial product development received fresh attention at the Kanak News MSME Summit 2026, where Dongyue Group was recognised for new product development and innovation. Nandiki Roja Ramani, Head – New Products Development, accepted the “Excellence in New Product Development & Innovation” award on behalf of Dongyue Engineering & Fabricators.
The event at Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar, was attended by industry stakeholders and featured panel discussions on the MSME sector. Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C), Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha, was the Chief Guest and presented the award.
The recognition is closely aligned with an emerging technology direction within Dongyue: developing ways to convert low-value plastic waste into useful products. The company is exploring technologies for processing single-use plastics and other low-end plastic fractions into construction materials, including recycled plastic bricks, blocks and plastic paver blocks.
Circular economy models depend on keeping materials in productive use for longer and finding applications for resources that would otherwise be discarded. Dongyue’s approach seeks to connect this principle with manufacturing by using engineering systems to convert selected plastic waste streams into marketable construction products.
Nandiki Roja Ramani said the company’s objective is to combine technology with practical sustainability. She explained that Dongyue is exploring innovative methods through which waste can become a raw material and resource. Her message at the summit was that environmental responsibility and industrial productivity can be addressed through the same technology-development pathway.
The company’s experience in industrial-waste utilisation forms an important part of this direction. Dongyue Group has worked on engineering and manufacturing solutions associated with converting waste materials into useful products. The plastic-waste initiative extends that experience into a material category that has become increasingly visible in urban waste-management discussions.
Plastic paver blocks are one of the potential construction applications attracting interest because they provide a clearly defined manufactured-product pathway. However, product performance, raw-material consistency, processing parameters, quality control, applicable standards and project economics remain important considerations before any recycled-plastic construction product is adopted at scale.
Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Dongyue Group, joined the ceremony through teleconference from Greater Noida during Bauma India 2026. He said the company is seeing increasing interest in technology that can convert single-use and low-end plastics into bricks and blocks.
Dr. Reddy highlighted enquiries and expectations emerging from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where the challenge is not only reducing plastic waste but also establishing practical reuse and recycling routes. He said Dongyue’s objective is to respond through technology, engineering support and commercially viable project models.
The award presented to Nandiki Roja Ramani therefore represents both individual recognition and a broader product-development milestone for Dongyue Group. As the company continues its work in recycled plastic building materials, the next phase will centre on technical validation, pilot projects, manufacturing optimisation and the development of scalable business models.
The message from the MSME Summit is clear in the company’s own words: “Your pollution, our solution.” For Dongyue, that phrase describes an engineering objective—turning challenging waste streams into productive resources through innovation and manufacturing.
